What I would do to debug such issues is to create a stub cron service, and attach an actual logger to it. That would give you a lot of debug output for your particular task.

Abstract. Using a modern approach which combines self-learning AI methods and engineering background, we develop a new image classiﬁcation method based on the appearance characteristics of images. The method consists of two main parts: the feature extraction and classiﬁcation. It is the feature extraction that makes the image processing and classification easy to accomplish. In order to acquire the features, the image is compared with thousands of previously prepared images to find a suitable feature vector. The feature vector is then presented to the self-learning AI engine, which can process automatically the feature vectors and then classiﬁcation results. The self-learning AI engine uses genetic algorithm, and neural network to implement the feature extraction and classiﬁcation, respectively. It is based on the theory of genetic algorithm, and uses both learning and neural network to enable the generalization and memorization of the learned categories. The genetic algorithm uses QoS as the fitness function. The feature vectors are trained by neural network. The results of experiment showed that our approach, which combines human engineering skills and AI capabilities, can classify the post-disaster crop images with accuracy rates of 97.69%, 90.62% and 98.47%.
